Wee-Kend Fun........Arthur Christmas

You would have never guessed by my acts of trying to get attention or bringing notice to myself, but I am an only child.  I know may be a surprise to you but its true, I am kind of an attention hog, maybe its cause I am a Leo too? Who knows.  Who cares..

Well we took the C's to see a Christmas movie this weekend.

Arthur Christmas

Overall we liked the movie. Had two moments we could have done without two parts but they were brief and no harm done.(Hopefully)

Story about Christmas and the only one in the family of Clause's that still believes in the true meaning of Christmas. He is the one that opens and reads and answers all of the letters. Arthur. The almost forgotten son the present time Santa.  The present Santa has another son, Steve. Steve is the older brother, next in line to be Santa and he has updated and futurized the way Christmas is brought to all the boys and girls.

Problem is that with all the fancy smancy high tech stuff used to get all the wonderful gifts to all the kids with Santa kind of just being there, one child is going to be without a gift when it falls off the conveyor belt. Well when Arthur finds out that the one gift was left behind and he sent that little girl a letter back, he knew it was up to him to get that gift to that little girl.

He knew in his heart of heart he couldn't have one person NOT believing in the magic of Santa.

So what did he do?  He went to his crazy old (very funny) GrandSanta. GrandSanta had the plan of doing it old school and getting the job done. Now at first he was doing it for all the wrong reason, then ol GrandSanta and Arthur and the stow-away Elf, made a decision that it was about having this little girl believe for the right reason. The Magic of Santa.

Coming to the end of the movie, after realizing that the real heir apparent to be the next Santa, Arthur's dad knew he had to hand the job over to him. Steve was a good son and good brother but he was all into the business side of Christmas and Arthur was so old school and cared only about the children that would wake up with smiles.  Santa knew that.

One thing I took from this movie it that you can always try to do things bigger and better but if you lose sight of the real and true meaning of why you are doing it, then its lost and it doesn't even matter anymore.  It also pointed out that no matter how many children you have, they are all going to be good at different things.

I do have to say that the movie was good and funny and had some light moments. My favorite character had to be GrandSanta.
GrandSanta.  The feisty ol Santa of yesteryear's.

Enjoy it with the kids and let the magic live on.
