CrossFit Garage Style.....Finally
Goodbye Xpress Fitness and Hello Garage Gym!
I am happy to say that I am now the proud owner of some of these Bumper Plates.
While I was there I also got one of these
But, I guess you might have already known that since for most of the movements you are going to have to put the bumper plates on this bar. The bar was used and they hooked me up with a great deal since it had some marks and stuff on it. They took an extra bit off it the price. Sweet. They also added some clips on for free, so that was nice too.
I figured while I was there and they were matching prices on everything, I should go ahead and pick up one of these
Got me a new smooth Kettle Ball. They didn't have any 50lb's so I did get him to hook me up on the 45lb one. So that means now I own my very first kettle ball. I was using dumbbells at the gym but now I am doing actual kettle ball swings with a kettle ball. Fun right.
A while back I had built this
And I think now is the perfect time to get the kids out there and help me decorate it with me. I can have the top and they can each have a side. I think they will enjoy that and I will too every time that I jump up on it or tear my shins up on it too.
I also have the pull up bar that is hanging in the garage but its not that secure, so I am going to move it outside and put it in the backyard. I'm going to put some posts in the ground and then add the iron bar in between so I can do pull ups. I am also going to figure out how to add some brackets to it so I can use it as a squat rack and have a rack for bar position.
Now that I have some great stuff I am ready to get my wods going in my garage. I actually did some work this morning and I think the hardest part is going to be finding where to store it all and park in the garage.
I am excited to be able to do my wods at home now. Yes it was more money up front to buy the stuff than the membership at my old gym, but now I have the better equipment. I have the space, I have the time in the mornings and the evenings and on weekends. I can simply walk downstairs and get my wod on.
So its now time.

Looks awesome! Hopefully this allows you to fit in the workouts when you would otherwise miss them if you had to go to the gym. I'm hoping to make a box when the weather improves. I figure that kind of exercise will really help my power with cycling.
